This past Saturday I filmed a wedding at Casa Los Ebanos (beautiful location), and the pianist played Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” I have not heard that song in so long, and was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. As I listened I immediately began to play scenes of the movie Titanic in my mind and suddenly I was taken back to 1997. In 1997 I was so in love with the movie and characters, and of course all I could think about was finding my Jack and falling madly in love (minus the tragic ending). I will admit as I listened to “My Heart Will Go On” I got a little choked up.

When the song was over I had a thought, Could this song still make a good first dance song? Or was this 1997 hit song too dated. I thought long and hard and came to this conclusion: Any song no matter how cheesy/old school/dated/outdated/cliche it may seem if it speaks to you as a couple it will always be the perfect song.
