cybermonday-2016November marks the celebration of Thanksgiving Day. On Thanksgiving, we celebrate all the blessings we have been gifted throughout the year by showing thanks and immense gratitude.  As well as, acknowledge our loved ones for always being there ready to extend a helping hand, for their unwavering support and unconditional love. This day should be devoted to enjoying the company of family and friends. However, let EVERYDAY be a day for showing our thanks for daily blessings and saying “thank you” to those important people in our lives.

Another thing November is known for is SAVINGS! There is no shortage of that throughout the month. There are the Pre-Black Friday Sales, Black Friday Sales, Post Black Friday Sales, and Cyber Monday, just to name a few. This year- as they did last year- John Arriola Films and Le Vintage Photo Booth will participate in CYBER MONDAY. They will offer some of the best promotions they have ever offered. Last year there was great interest and they wanted to bring the saving to clients once again.  However, this year will be a little different-all bookings must take place online.

THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ENTIRELY ONLINE. You may make an appointment with John Arriola Films or Le Vintage Photo Booth prior or after Monday, November 28th, although in order to take advantage of the savings you must book on Monday, November 28th, 2016. Send ALL requests for John Arriola Films and Le Vintage Photo Booth to info@johnarriolafilms.com

  1. Send an email to info@johnarriolafilms.com with the following information: email address, your name, event date, and ceremony & reception location. Please note whether you are interested in PHOTO BOOTH, VIDEO, OR BOTH.
  2. You will then be sent the promotions via email on Sunday, November 27th.
  3. If you are interested in booking you will then be sent a contract and payment information via email on Monday, November 28th, 2016.
    YOU MUST BOOK MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE PROMOTIONS.

Classic Father-Daughter Dance Songs

classic-fatherdaughterdancesongsThe bond between a father and a daughter is one of the most precious and cherished bonds a female will ever have in her lifetime.  This wonderful bond will set the tone and high standard for the type of man she hopes to find her happily ever after with. And this standard has been set very high thanks to our amazing dads.

I have been blessed to have a pretty spectacular dad.  He was and continues to be one of the most hard working men I know.  Always making sure his family is well taken care of. This usually meant having at least two jobs at a time, and through it all always making time for his family. My dad has been a great influence in my day to day life, whether it be the path I took or my likes and dislikes.  For instance, my dad’s great love and appreciation for movies is something I have inherited. My dad was a World Geography teacher for many years and as you can imagine there was great talk about far away places and their history. This fueled my desire to travel and my enthusiasm to learn the history of people, places and things. As an educator and a son of immigrant parents, he taught us that education was paramount. At a very young age I knew that education would open the doors to a world of endless possibilities and great opportunities. My dad has played an incredible role in who I have become and I thank my lucky stars for having such a wonderful man in my life.

When I was planning my wedding and it was time to choose a father-daughter dance song I knew I wanted a song that was special, a classic that would never grow old and, most importantly, paid tribute to the love I had for my dad. There were many beautiful new songs that would have made a wonderful choice, however, I wanted a song that in ten or twenty years would still be a beloved favorite- a song with no expiration date. As a videographer I have witness many many father-daughter dances over the years and while some have been unforgettable classics, others have been trendier picks. Personally, I found those songs with history and longevity had more meaning and made a lasting impression on me.

Fall Inspired Color Combinations

It’s hard to believe it is already November. We are definitely into Fall and soon Winter will be here.  Although, at the moment it is not feeling much like Fall with temperatures still in the high 90’s here in Texas. Yes, I know WHAT?!?! So I am having a hard time getting into the Fall spirit. I have yet to wear a single long sleeve shirt, cute light coat or any other fall outfit.

While I wait patiently for the Fall weather to finally hit South Texas, I’m sharing a few Fall inspired color palettes.

No cool weather in sight UNTIL NOW! When I wrote this post we had yet to have a single Fall day and yesterday left me pleasantly surprised. It hit a whopping 71 degrees! Hell-ooo Fall.

Fresh as a Daisy

As Kathleen Kelly from You’ve Got Mail said, “I love daisies…They’re so friendly. Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower?”

They sure are the friendliest looking flowers. When you see a daisy you can’t help, but smile. The sight of them can perk up any foul mood. They’re a cheery little flower that exudes joy and has a wonderful whimsical nature. These tiny lovelies take me back to elementary when I’d run the fields during recess looking for pretty flowers to pick.  They’d end up in sweet little bouquets or as lovely hair ornaments. Where I lived you could find them just about anywhere so they were a flower I picked quite frequently.

1. Daisies have a few different meanings: innocence, purity, new beginnings, and true love.
2. These pretty little flowers are edible.
3. They have medicinal properties.
4. This one I did not know. Daisies are actually two flowers in one.  The white petals are one flower, while the yellow center is another.
5. In the Victorian Era people were to uphold certain rules of society. Proclaiming one’s love for another through words or affection was not acceptable, therefore, they had to find secret and clever ways of showing someone how they felt. They would do so by sending daisies. It was a way of saying I accept your affection and I reciprocate it.
6. A commonly used phrase “fresh as a daisy” means to be healthy and full of energy.

Daisies are like a breath of fresh air. An unexpected, but lovely choice for a wedding. They look great on their own or paired with brightly colored blooms. I hope these wonderful examples encourage you to consider these overlooked flower.
