YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE THE “PERFECT WEDDING” TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DAY.
So many brides become overwhelmed with the idea of the “perfect wedding.” But the reality is the “perfect wedding” does not exist. There will be some hiccups here and there, however, none of it will matter in the grand scheme of things.
LovelyTip-No11“The perfect wedding” does not exist.  I know what you’re thinking, how dare I make such a statement. But frankly, it is true.  There is no such thing.  There will inevitably be some hiccups here and there- that is for certain.  All you can do is shrug it off and go about your day.  You cannot let those unforeseen mishaps get you down and ruin one of the most important days of your life- your beautiful wedding day.  These little insignificant hiccups have no affect on your true happiness. When put into perspective they mean very little in the grand scheme of things.

So, when your wedding day comes around and you find yourself stressing about the chargers not being the right color, or the centerpieces aren’t quite right, or the flower girl isn’t tossing the flowers the right way, or the sauce on the chicken is wrong, think about how you are madly in love with the person next to you. And the vows you have exchanged to one another in front of your family and friends. Those are the memories you want to keep in your heart forever.  It is the first day of the rest of your lives together as husband and wife, so make it a day to remember. Fill the day with love, laughter, happiness and you will be left with an abundance of wonderful memories.

Nothing can put a damper on your beautiful wedding day when you put things into perspective and remember what is truly important to you on this momentous occasion.

 

Cocktail Friday is back!

Yay it’s Friday! I am ecstatic! My hubby’s been gone a few days and he will get back this afternoon (insert high pitch squeal).  He’s been in New York for a TOP SECRET project.  Can’t wait to see the footage and hear all about it.

Friday is here once again and I am crazy excited for it for a few reasons.  As I mentioned before my hubby will be back. We don’t spend much time apart, but when we do it feels like an eternity.  Second, my husband and I will have the weekend off. As wedding vendors these are far and in between, so when they come around you cherish them. This particular weekend will be packed to the gills with home projects.  That brings me to the third reason. The stars have aligned, we are FINALLY going to get our backyard done!!! This is something I have been hoping for since we moved into our home about 4 years ago. That means we have a few things to do to prepare for it.  With my handy dandy list in hand I hope to accomplish every one of my projects by the end of the weekend.  I doubt ALL will get done, but here’s to hopeful thinking! Hey, anything can be accomplished when you put your mind to it.

To celebrate the beginning of an awesome weekend let me share a cocktail recipe that is a nod to my hubby’s trip.
CocktailFriday

MANHATTAN
2 1/2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
4 dashes of Angostura bitters
maraschino cherry
orange peel to garnish

Combine bourbon, vermouth and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.  Strain over a cherry placed in a chilled martini glass.  Rub the cut edge of the orange peel over the glass rim and twist it over the drink.

Soul mates

I know the concept of soul mates is one that not everyone believes in, but I myself do.  When I met my husband I knew there was an instant connection, however, at the moment I had no idea I’d found my soul mate – I didn’t think I’d be meeting my future husband at 19 years old. But it did’t take long to realize I’d found THE ONE! It was a wonderful feeling to know I had found my soul mate- the man I will spend the rest of my life with, the person I will share incredible moments with, the one I will lean on during those difficult times, the one that will encourage me in my journey of life, the one that will pick me when I stumble, the one that will make me laugh hysterically, the one I will share my secrets with, and the one I will grown old with. Everyday is a blessing and I treasure our life together. And I never take our love, life, relationship, or connection for granted.
