Monthly Happy Goals for December

monthly happy goals for septemberI am blown away at how quickly the year has zoomed by. It feels like only yesterday I was preparing for 2016. Now, I’m sharing my Monthly Happy Goals for December 2017 and prepping for the New Year. This time of year is incredibly busy for us as we prep for events, attend events, complete our current work commitments, and prepare for 2018. All of this entails a great deal of juggling of our current commitments along with the preparation of the future and all of its endeavors. And as an added bonus, we must do this for not one, but two full fledge businesses- Le Vintage Photo Booth and John Arriola Films. It is a handful, to say the least.

The craziness begins in August, however, hits an all time high at the beginning of November. In November and December we are already strategizing our advertising budget, future ads, promotions, and specials, booking clients for the coming year, and so much more. We are on hyper drive during this time. Year after year we manage to get through all of this insanity, somewhat unscathed.

Owning a business requires you to think in terms of the future. For instance, weeks from now, months from now and sometimes a year from now. This way of thinking can make it difficult to live in the here and now. However, after all these years we’ve managed to find a balance. We force ourselves to take a breather or two, even if it’s for a moment, to “stop and smell the roses.” If you don’t force yourself these moments to reflect, savor, or appreciate you miss out on life and all its lovely moments.

My Monthly Happy Goals for December are focused on me reflecting, savoring and appreciating all that 2017 had to offer me, us and our little businesses. I will begin the New Year with great anticipation and excitement for what is to come in 2018.

MONTHLY HAPPY GOALS FOR DECEMBER
1. We are FINALLY getting cooler weather, so this month I plan to take full advantage of it. I will do so by lighting up our fire pit and roasting marshmallows for some delicious s’mores.

2. My husband bought me an adorable Fujifilm Instax Mini camera and lately I’ve been taking photos with it. There is something so gratifying about the fact that you are forced to take a photo without the use of filters, redos, retakes, or any other altering apps. And once you’ve taken the photo it comes right out. I can’t remember the last time I printed out any of my photos. It seems so strange that we take all of these photos, thousands upon thousands, and not one gets printed. We don’t have photo albums anymore. Kinda sad. I plan to change that.

My challenge for December is to take at least one photo every day and make myself a little Holiday Album.

3. Relax on the porch and enjoy some hot chocolate. Another way I’m taking advantage of the nicer weather. And it’s a way to “stop and smell the roses.”

4. Everyday in December take part in a holiday activity. For instance, hand make Christmas ornaments, DIY a Christmas gift, make holiday cookies, etc. You get the picture.

5. Look back on all of the events we had an opportunity to be a part of in 2017, and send heartfelt THANK YOU cards or letters to our clients. Everyday we thank our lucky stars for those who allow us to be a part of their special day. It means the world to know they believe in us, so much so, they entrust us with such an incredibly important day. Without our clients we would not be able to live our dream career.

SIDE NOTE: Oooh, I just thought of a new post series! Monthly Challenge! Every month I will give myself some kind of daily challenge. I will try my best to keep to the challenge. Throughout the month I will write about my progress and share my thoughts, experiences, difficulties and results.

December’s Monthly Challenge is take a photo every day with my Fujifilm Instax Mini. Paste each photo in an album and jot down a few words for each photo.

The moment you find your soulmate

the moment you find your soulmateIt is a beautiful thing when one finds their soulmate. The moment you find your soulmate is one that is forever ingrained in your mind and will forever stay with you. At that moment everything is right with the world and nothing can sour that magical moment. The moment one’s life is forever changed.

Soulmates is defined as a person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet – a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before.

I know the concept of soulmates is one that not everyone believes in, but I myself do.  When I met my husband I knew there was an instant connection. However, at the moment I had no idea just how profound that connection would be and how life changing it would be for me. Never in a million years did I think I’d be meeting my future husband at 19 years old. But it did’t take long to realize I’d found THE ONE!

It was a wonderful feeling to know I had found my soulmate. I’d found the man I will spend the rest of my life with. The person I will share incredible moments with. The one I will lean on during those difficult times. The person that will encourage me in my journey of life. The one that will pick me when I stumble. The one that will make me laugh hysterically. The person I will share my secrets with. And the one I will grow old with. Everyday is a blessing and I treasure our life together. And I never take our love, life, relationship, or connection for granted.

Here are a few quotes I found that are totally worth the read.

Our soul mate is the one who makes life come to life.
– Richard Bach
The moment you find your soulmate

And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, ‘Oh there you are.  I’ve been looking for you.’
-Unknown
The moment you find your soulmate

When you find someone who can make you laugh. Smile. Grow. Lust. Want. Crave. Feel. Make you mad, but happy. Keep that. That’s euphoria.
The moment you find your soulmate

Two souls are sometimes created together and in love before they are born.
The moment you find your soulmate

Happiness is…sharing life with your soul mate.
The moment you find your soulmate

And the last quote.

I feel like a part of my soul has loved you since the beginning of everything.  Maybe we’re from the same star.
The moment you find your soulmate

I Am Thankful for…

I Am Thankful ForToday I’m sharing an inspiring download for the month of November. The I AM THANKFUL FOR… download is a wonderful way to celebrate November and the Thanksgiving holiday.

This year I have been making a conscious choice to take the time to reflect upon and, most importantly, show gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Sometimes we loose sight of what we are blessed with, because we are far too focused on the negative. Or rather all those things we DON’T have, HAVEN’T experienced, or people we DON’T know. We forget to be grateful and thankful for what we have in life, the experiences we have been witness to, and the relationships we are fortunate to have in our lives. Those positive and beautiful things are what we should focus on instead of wallowing and/or obsessing with the negative.

Life has its good days, its not so good days and its down right terrible days. Life comes with a great amount of joy, adventure, happiness, as well as, ups and downs, sadness and disappointment. In a perfect world life would be filled with rainbows and unicorns, however, in the real world it is made up of an assortment of situations, interactions, and emotions. But all those things are what make life so unpredictable and worth the crazy ride. At the end of the day, the only thing one can do is cherish, savor and celebrate the wonderful blessings, moments, memories and adventures that help us along and keep us trucking through those tough days. Everyday has its silver lining, it’s up to you to notice them and savor them.

My I AM THANKFUL FOR… download will help you see everyday’s silver lining. At the end of the day take a moment to replay the day (even the terrible ones) and think of one thing you are thankful or grateful for for that particular day. Then jot it down on your printed download. Think of it as a kind of journal of your thankful/grateful moments.

I too have decided to put down on paper all that I AM THANKFUL FOR so that I will have a written record of my blessings. This wonderful record will come in handy on those days I may be down in the dumps. I can look at my list to remind me that I have many blessings to be happy for.

NOTE: I am planning to use this download into next year. So I have created a space to denote the month you are sharing your blessings on, in case you may like to continue this activity into the next year, as well.

Monthly Happy Goals for November

monthly happy goals for septemberNovember marks the beginning of the holiday season and the approach of, yet another one of our favorite months, December. What exactly does the holiday season mean? All kinds of fun, of course. It is the beginning of holiday decorating, baking, holiday shopping, special events, soirees, and so much more. This months Monthly Happy Goals for November will help celebrate the holidays to come in November and December.

MONTHLY HAPPY GOALS FOR NOVEMBER
1. Bake something new! I am crazy in love with all the donuts I’ve been seeing on Pinterest. These yummy treats come in so many shapes (hearts, cats, and mini), colors, and flavors. And don’t get me started on all the sprinkles, candies, and the other amazingly wonderful embellishments they are dressed in. I really want to try this new trend in mini form.

2. Every day in November, write down what I am thankful for in celebration of Thanksgiving. This year I have been making a conscious choice to take the time to reflect upon and, most importantly, show gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Sometimes we loose sight of what we are blessed with, because we are far too focused on the negative, or rather all those things we DON’T have. We forget to be grateful and thankful for what we have in life, the experiences we have been witness to, and the relationships we are fortunate to have in our lives. Those positive and beautiful things are what we should focus on instead of wallowing in the negative.

3. Bake my special banana bread and gift it to family and friends. I have a few family members and friends that have made requests for it, but I haven’t had the chance to fulfill those orders.

4. Attend as many holiday events in the Rio Grande Valley. The Valley has so much to offer and this year I want to see as much as I can. It’s a great thing to support the community whenever possible. So much time and energy goes into these splendid events. We should take advantage of these occasions and have a great time!

5. Get outdoors and enjoy our backyard. The weather is finally cooling off, as much as it can in deep South Texas. This breezy weather doesn’t last very long, it’s gone in a blink of an eye. Therefore, I have to make sure to thoroughly enjoy it and savor it while it lasts.
